Me Myself

"We cannot change them, but we can change the way we see them."

This exhibition explores the ways in which society and culture shape our perceptions of one another. It reflects on how appearances often become the basis for judgment, influencing the way people are seen before they are truly known.

Drawing from my own experiences, I examine the assumptions people make about me because of my clothing and tattoos. Through a series of self-portraits, I use my own body as both subject and medium to confront these preconceived notions.

Each photograph is hand-stitched using sewing techniques, with every stitch symbolizing the judgments, labels, and expectations imposed upon us at first glance. By altering the surface of the images, the work invites viewers to reconsider the relationship between appearance and identity, encouraging a deeper understanding beyond first impressions.
