Bondage of Me to Me for Me
Bondage of Me to Me for Me explores the psychological and emotional impact of violence experienced by women. The work examines the lasting effects of abuse, focusing on the emotions felt in the moment of trauma and how those experiences become enduring memories that leave invisible scars.
The project also reflects on the objectification of women's bodies and the ways in which women are often reduced to objects of male desire. Through this body of work, I question these social structures while reclaiming ownership of my own body and personal narrative.
The series is deeply rooted in my own experience of surviving physical violence. Rather than remaining defined by the past, I transform those memories into visual expressions of resilience and healing. The stitched patterns across the skin symbolize both pain and repair—wounds that have been carefully mended but never erased.
For me, sewing becomes an act of restoration. Each stitch represents a lesson learned, revealing that beauty can emerge through healing, and that the scars we carry are not only reminders of suffering but also evidence of strength, survival, and self-transformation.
